Description - ISA-SPONSORED CENTRAL ZONE POSTGRADUATE ASSEMBLY RMLIMS Anaesthesia Refresher Course (RARC–2026) The Department of Anaesthesiology, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (Dr. RMLIMS), Lucknow, along with the Lucknow City Branch of ISA, successfully organized the ISASponsored Central Zone Postgraduate Assembly/RARC–2026 from 24th to 26th July 2026 at DR RMLIMS, Lucknow. The scientific event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Rajiv Gupta, National Secretary, Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), with the help of Prof Rajeev Kumar Dubey, President, ISA UP, and Secretary, ISA UP Prof Tanmay Tiwari. Prof. (Dr.) Pravin Kumar Das led the event as Organising Chairman, Prof. (Dr.) Sujeet Rai managed and coordinated all the events during this assembly as the Organising Secretary, and Dr. Shilpi Misra covered the whole scientific program as the Scientific Secretary. The event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of all the faculty members of the Department of Anaesthesiology, Dr. RMLIMS, Lucknow. The three-day postgraduate academic assembly witnessed enthusiastic participation from across the country. A total of 135 postgraduate students from various colleges of UP and other states were registered for the event, along with more than 50 faculty members from leading medical colleges and hospitals across the whole country. Eminent experts including Dr. Deepak Tempe, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. J. V. Divatia, Dr. Deepak Malviya, and Dr. C. K. Pandey enlightened the students as distinguished faculty in this assembly. The scientific programme comprised lectures, panel discussions, and interactive academic sessions covering a wide range of topics in anaesthesiology. Experts delivered insightful sessions on Anaesthetic management of patients with cardiac disease, Airway Assessment and Management of the Difficult Airway, Advanced Hemodynamic Monitoring, Approach to a Patient with Thyroid Swelling, and several other contemporary subjects. During this assembly, recent commitment towards safer and green Anaesthesia initiatives like Low Flow Anaesthesia, as well as recent advances like AI in Anaesthesia, were discussed. The sessions provided postgraduate students with valuable opportunities to enhance their clinical knowledge, update themselves on recent advances, and interact with renowned academicians and clinicians. The inaugural ceremony was organised at Dr RMLIMS, Lucknow on 25th July 2026 with Dr Rajiv Gupta, National Secretary, ISA as chief guest and Prof (Dr) CM Singh, Director, Dr RMLIMS, Lucknow as guest of honour along with other dignitaries of the Institute and the state. The successful conduct of the ISA-Sponsored Central Zone Postgraduate Assembly/RARC2026 reflects the Indian Society of Anaesthesiology along with the Department of Anaesthesiology’s continued commitment to promoting excellence in postgraduate education, academic collaboration, and professional development in the field of anaesthesiology.
